In June 2026, ProtonVPN were blocking a different domain belonging to us, they were adamant that they’re weren’t until someone did actually work out they were blocking a domain. We actually in the end totally gave up on that project down to ProtonVPN
We previously moved our status page from https://brownuptime.com to https://uptime.brownroom.org believing that was sufficient, but thanks to ProtonVPN, we’ve had to move it back to https://brownuptime.com because ProtonVPN is blocking brownroom.org but since we’re being blocked twice taking a status page more seriously by adding https://brownstatus.org to follow the status of all brown websites and take if the sites are working for everyone more seriously
Now brownroom.org doesn’t work with ProtonVPN. But their AI bot, lumo makes various excuses
“hobby run on a shoestring” by “a couple of people” it’s actually professionally run and not by “a couple of people”
Errors 1132 have nothing to do with the websever, that is a Zoom error message
The domains do not have different infrastructures, both domains are registered with the same registrar, same DNS and same professional webhosting company on a professional webserver the webserver is monitored every minute
Not a firewall issue, host, CDN or routing – although we are regretting having a link to your VPN with free trial to your VPN. We now recommend SurfShark instead
No we don’t use CloudFlare we don’t like CAPTCHA‘s either and we’re not firewalling your CIDR blocks … yet
If brownuptime.com works then brownroom.org would work too. Now your screwing with two domains, we’ve registered brownstatus.org as clearly there is going to be ongoing issues with ProtonVPN
